Synopsis:
The morning she’s supposed to begin her first year of high school, Sakuraba Ema wakes up in an unfamiliar cell, in the prison of a mansion on a remote island. There, Ema finds herself captive along with twelve other girls. Amidst their confusion, the caretaker of the mansion, an owl, delivers to them an announcement:
“Any of you could become a witch that brings calamity to this world.” Branded as potential witches, Ema and the others are forced into a life of confinement. Despite their anxieties, these girls begin to grow closer — but the fragile peace they maintain is shattered when a murder occurs. The owl assembles the captive girls and declares the start of a witch trial: a brutal game to identify the culprit of the murder — to identify who is to be executed.
